Paul was introduced to me when I became a new team leader.  At first, I was a little apprehensive about engaging with Paul as I had all these great ideas that I wanted to get done with my new team and I wasn’t clear how Paul would add value to my plan. That said the team had a great way of bringing me down to Earth quickly.  The whole Dream vs Reality came into sharp focus leaving me with a sense of loneliness and a feeling of being inadequate.  Our sessions together were like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s day, Paul as you would expect is calm and reflective, helping you to put things into perspective. Paul helps you to rationalise your thinking and evaluate your emotions to find the route cause(s) which are often in your blind spot.   Our time together renewed my energy levels and self-belief, unlocking an inner strength using new techniques to develop new ways of working that helped me to become more effective in my role. Paul is insightful, experienced, and non-judgemental whilst being challenging in a balanced way to stretch you outside your comfort zone.

I had the privilege of experiencing Paul's coaching during his time at Barclays and can attest to the fact that it's one of the things that has helped my evolution as an individual and my career success to date. As with life in general, during our time together, we went through highs, lows, moments of distorted focus and limiting beliefs. I was keen to have a leadership coach who would challenge my thinking and enable me to see things from another perspective. Paul certainly did this on each of the sessions we had together. He would ask challenging questions that on reflection were designed to make me think differently and to challenge my own assumptions. I recall one specific meeting we had when I was not in a great place on account of some feedback I had taken personally. Paul listened calmly, smiled warmly and then gave me perspective that I would never have seen. The guidance he gave me that day is guidance I now give others faced with a similar situation. Without doubt Paul made me a more accomplished leader of people, put me forward for opportunities I wouldn't have otherwise had and more than anything was always there to listen when I needed him.
